In Dr. Broderick’s practice, what kind of services can she provide that I may not find in a conventional practice?
Dr. Brodericks’s practice specializes in providing a higher level of personalized care delivered in a calm, unhurried environment. She can provide this level of care because her practice will be limited to 400 patients instead of the 2500 or more patients that a typical physician manages. She offers intensive physicals focusing on diet, exercise, risk factor analysis and nutrition. Appointments for physicals, sick visits, and elective visits will be made at your convenience and will start on time. Office visits will not feel rushed and will take as long as you need to address all of your health concerns. Her staff will respond to your questions in a courteous, professional manner. When you call the office during business hours, her staff will personally answer your calls. Most importantly, she will be available to you at all times, 24 hours a day, by telephone, e-mail or mobile phone.
Will Dr. Broderick make house calls?
Dr. Broderick will make house calls around the proximity of the Olney area if it is not possible for the patient to be seen in the office and when other testing is not required. This service is particularly helpful to the elderly and physically challenged patients and is virtually unheard of in conventional practices. This service, too, is included in the annual fee.

Do I still need to keep my medical insurance if I join Dr. Broderick’s practice?
Yes. Even though Dr. Broderick’s practice is not dependent on insurance, you will need your medical insurance to see other physicians or extended providers, get radiologic procedures, go to the emergency room, etc. Remember, Dr. Broderick’s practice is not an insurance plan. It is simply a practice where patients can see their physician at their convenience, without the typical frustration of a conventional practice.

Remember, that Dr. Broderick will not be participating in Medicare and that Medicare will not cover or reimburse any portion of the annual fee. Your Medicare coverage for other doctors, hospitals, procedures and tests done outside the office remains intact. Upon joining the practice, we will request our Medicare patients to sign a waiver acknowledging that they have agreed to a private relationship with Dr. Broderick.
My insurance is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). Can I join Dr. Broderick’s practice?
Yes, you can. Again, since Dr. Broderick’s practice is not dependent on insurance, anyone can join her practice. Your only responsibility will be annual professional fee. For insurance purposes, Dr. Broderick is considered an “out-of-network” physician, so, during the course of the year, you may be able to submit your office visit fees for reimbursement. The reimbursement will be dependent on your policy deductible and whatever your insurance plan considers customary for that particular office visit. Of course, any reimbursement you obtain is yours to keep as Dr. Broderick’s services are fully covered by the annual professional fee.
What if I have a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) as my insurance? Can I join Dr. Broderick’s practice?
Yes, you can. Again, since Dr. Broderick’s practice is not dependent on insurance, anyone can join her practice. Your only responsibility is the annual professional fee. You need to remember, though, that a typical HMO usually requires referrals to specialists or may require
prior authorizations for radiologic procedures that can only be done by primary care physician. As Dr. Broderick will not be participating in insurance plans, she cannot function as your primary care physician. Further, patients with HMO’s cannot submit their office visit fees for reimbursement, as they do not have coverage for physicians who are “out of network”
I have a Flex Spending Account or Medical Savings Account through work. Can I use these funds for the purposes of the annual professional fee?
